About us
The Ark Foundation began with a simple mission: Helping those who have served us, find healing and new life in Christ. While we didn’t know exactly how we were going to complete that mission, we felt a calling on our hearts to find a way to do it.
Fishing and the outdoors have always been a way of life for us. Being in a mountain stream isn’t just another vacation, but a way for us to truly connect with God and enjoy his creation. Standing in a stream in the middle of the mountains has always been more than just fishing. Psalm 46:10 says to “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth". When we are wading through a river, everything else tends to fade away. The mindset shifts, the daily struggles subside for the time being, and we can begin to think clearly. This is where the idea for a foundation that would serve veterans and law enforcement began. When we put the two together, we realized that our passion for fishing and the outdoors, and discipling to those in need could be combined into one thing, and The Ark Foundation was born.
We are excited to see where God takes this foundation and how we will be able to serve those who have served us.

Jonathan was born and raised in Yuma, Arizona, where his love for the outdoors and fishing began at an early age. Whether he was on a boat, standing on the shoreline, or exploring rivers, lakes, and oceans, being on the water quickly became his sanctuary. Over time, he came to realize that it wasn’t just the activity he loved—it was the peace, reflection, and connection with God that the outdoors consistently provided.
Professionally, Jonathan is a high school teacher, currently instructing Wilderness Survival and Physical Education courses. His passion lies in helping others discover the healing and restorative power of nature and movement—whether that means casting a line in a quiet stream, hiking through the backcountry, or engaging in physical activity through sport.
Jonathan firmly believes that true wellness is found through physical activity, meaningful relationships, time spent in nature, and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. His goal is to inspire others to find balance, purpose, and peace through these principles.
